Congrats to WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE SVP/Promotion CHRIS STACEY, VP/Promotion BOB REEVES, National Dir./Promotion KRISTEN WILLIAMS and the rest of the WMN team, as REPRISE/NASHVILLE artist BLAKE SHELTON tops the MEDIABASE Country Singles chart this week with “All About Tonight.” This is BLAKE’s second #1 of the year, following “Hillbilly Bone” back in MARCH, and it’s his seventh #1 of his career.
BLAKE’s latest chart-topper comes right on the heels of his latest SIX PAK album, “All About Tonight,” which came out last TUESDAY (8/10).
SHELTON said: “I just want to thank my fans, friends and Country radio for making this single a number one for me. This wouldn’t have been possible without BOB REEVES and the WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE promo staff. I have never had two No.1′s within five months of each other. BOB and his team continue to show us how committed and passionate they are about my music — for that, I am truly grateful. I said this back in MARCH, and I’ll say it again, this is the best year of my career. Thank you.”

Five months after his first “six pak,” Hillbilly Bone, country star Blake Shelton returns with his second, All About Tonight, due out Aug. 10. The EP of a half-dozen songs is led by the title-track single, a feel-good foot-stomper co-written by Rhett Atkins, which is already a Top 10 hit on the Billboard country charts.
“All About Tonight has a vibe to it from beginning to end,” Shelton says. “The songs make you want to play air guitar. Even the ballads have a more sing-along quality to them.”
The disc includes two collaborations with Shelton’s fiancée, Miranda Lambert. “Suffocating” is a ballad that Lambert co-wrote with Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, while the mid-tempo “Draggin’ the River” features Lambert on vocals.
“I am extremely excited about the duet with Miranda,” says Shelton. “It is the exact type of duet our fans would expect us to do. We sing about being crazy in love and running away.”
Another noteworthy tune is the wistful “Who Are You When I’m Not Looking.”
“I always wanted a song with a great pick-up line like George Strait’s ‘The Chair,’ ” Shelton explains. “Now I have my own.”

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are mourning the loss of one of their four-legged children. Their puppy Steve was killed in an accident over the weekend, and the two are obviously devastated.
Miranda took to her Twitter page to share her loss and asked her followers to “please send prayers to our family. We lost our puppy Steve yesterday (Saturday) in an accident. He is happy in heaven now.” She even tweeted a cute photo of her and Steve, and said, “R.I.P. my sweet angel!” The songbird was very sad by the dog’s passing, as was her fiancé, Blake, who actually rescued Steve. He was only able to write, “Worst day for me in a longtime. Rest in peace Steve …” Many of their famous friends, including Martina McBride and Michelle Branch, have reached out via Twitter as well to give their condolences.
Earlier this year, Miranda told The Boot about Steve, as well as her most recent canine addition, Cher. “I have six dogs now, and they’re all rescues,” she explained. “And Cher was the last one, and then right before her, we got Steve, which is Blake’s dog that he found on his land, and I don’t know why his name is Steve … [probably] because Blake named him, that’s why.”
