Jermaine Paul took first place in Tuesday night’s (May finale of The Voice. Jermaine, part of Blake Shelton’s team, bested Chris Mann, Tony Lucca and Juliet Simms to take home the prize of a recording contract and $100,000.

The 33-year-old from New York, a former Alicia Keys backup singer, is the show’s second champion, following last year’s winner, Javier Colon.

Just minutes before being crowned the winner, Jermaine was speechless just thinking about winning the competition. “It would mean the world to me,” he said.

When he was announced as the winner, Jermaine collapsed into a hug from his coach, Blake, and wiped away tears as he thanked his wife, children and all of the people who voted for him, ending his speech by exclaiming, “Nobody but Jesus!”

He received embraces from his family as he sang “I Believe I Can Fly” to close out the show.

While Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are a match made in heaven, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are more like “The Odd Couple.” That’s how People magazine describes the handsome ‘Voice’ coaches on the cover of its April 1 issue.

“A few weeks ago somebody asked me, ‘What about you and Adam’s bromance? Is there anything to it?’” Blake tells People. “And I sputtered off, ‘Yeah, I’m going to make out with him.’ The next thing you read is, ‘Blake wants to kiss Adam.’ Man, I can’t believe how …”

“True that is?” Adam interjects.

“How honest I was,” quips Blake.

So was Blake misquoted, misunderstood or just messing around? We’re thinking the latter. The ‘bromance’ chatter, of course, stems from the guys’ playful nature with one another on the hit NBC show, ‘The Voice.’ But Blake didn’t help things when he told MTV News, “It’s true: I have a man crush on Adam. It blows me away people can pick up on that just by watching that on television. I want to kiss him. I want to kiss him so bad. I don’t care if it’s mutual or not. Can you honestly tell me that you don’t have a little bit of a crush on Adam? He’s sexy.”

The feeling is somewhat mutual. While Adam, who’s dating a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, may not want to lock lips with the country superstar, he has become a fan of Blake’s personality and his music. He’d just rather not be in this tabloid ‘bromance’ with his co-star.

“Can we please kill that stupid term?” Adam asks. “We’re just friends. It’s called friendship!”

The ‘Voice’ coaches’ People magazine cover story hits shelves this Friday. Inside the mag, Adam and Blake talk more about their friendship, along with their candid thoughts on fellow ‘Voice’ coach Christina Aguilera and more.

Gwen Sebastian was chosen by Blake Shelton to be part of his team on NBC’s vocal competition series, ‘The Voice,’ but was eliminated on Monday (March 19) in favor of her competitor, Erin Willett, after singing Pat Benatar’s ‘We Belong’ in the battle round. Even though the singer-songwriter is no longer on the show, she’ll still spend plenty of time with her coach, since he has invited her to join him for the remaining dates of his Well Lit & Amplified tour.

“Never in a million years would I think that this journey would lead me to be onstage with Blake,” Gwen gushed (quote via the Los Angeles Times). “I am honored he asked me to become a part of his show and a member of his ‘road family.’ Watching him perform is a learning experience in itself … He has a big heart and an infectious laugh. Plus, he’s pretty darn funny!”

The ‘Drink On It’ singer looks forward to spending time with his protégé. “The first time I ever heard Gwen’s voice, I knew it was something special,” says Blake. “She has the rare ability to combine power with passion in her singing abilities. Although our journey together has ended on ‘The Voice,’ it’s just beginning in real life.”

Gwen will head to Las Vegas on April 1 to perform with Blake for the ACM Awards, where he will also serve as co-host, along with Reba McEntire. Blake’s tour, which also includes last year’s ‘Voice’ runner-up, Dia Frampton, as well as Justin Moore, heads to South Dakota tonight (March 21), followed by stops in Montana, Arizona and Iowa.
